Light Racer 2.0 Development – Days 17-18 – Power Line with Sound
As part of the Light Racer 3D Development Journal, I made this video showing the finished power line map objects. I added public domain sounds to them and the collision detection is all in place now. The Light Racer 3D Development Journal – www.rbgrn.net
Light Racer 2.0 Development – Day 6 – Dynamic AI Tiles
As part of the Light Racer 3D Development Journal, I made a video showing the game running with the in-development Medium AI. The AI does nothing but go north because there is no path-finding algorithm implemented yet. Instead the screen is overlayed with AI visual debugging info, which is to show that the game world has been turned into large tiles. The tiles are necessary to compute a path in a reasonable amount of time. The tiles are calculated every time the AI is updated, which is 10 times per second for each AI Player. This means they must be calculated very quickly. This algorithm runs usually around 4ms, which is ok for us. The Light Racer 3D Development Journal – www.rbgrn.net
Bailout Bonanza Andriod G1 Phone
Beat the Bailout on your Google Phone. playscreen Battles the “Bailout Bonanza” with a New Google Android Phone Game. Angered by the million dollar bonuses, corporate jets, fancy junkets and other executive perks funded by the Bank Bailout? Wish you could stop this “Bailout Bonanza?” A new Android Phone game will give you the opportunity to do just that, and in the process, provide a REAL helping hand for people in need. playscreen has created “Bailout Bonanza,” a fast, fun and furious arcade-action game where you try to catch bundles of cash being thrown by a greedy executive. Taking advantage of the Google Android Phone's cool control features, “Bailout Bonanza” gives you the option to play by swiping your finger across the screen or by tilting the phone. Watch out for the occasional shoe toss! If you miss a moneybag or get hit by a shoe you lose one of your baskets and make the greedy exec very happy. playscreen is pledging to donate 5% of each sale to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. With “Bailout Bonanza” you can channel your frustration over Bailout abuse into helping the people hit hardest by this economic crises. Contact Info: William Volk bvolk@playscreen.com (858) 692 1124

Light Racer 2.0 Development – Day 7 – Medium AI
As part of the Light Racer 3D Development Journal, I made a video showing the game running with the first try of Medium AI with debugging turned on. Medium AI works by tiling the world, then applying an A* Pathfinding algorithm to try to get in front of the opponent. It's a little buggy but this isn't too bad for a first try.
