    @PrimozResman I thought it was going to be 2.4 for phones and 3.2 for tablets. But essentially the same code. But yes, too confusing. I’m sure Google will see sense and, yes, use 4.0 8-)

  • PrimozResman:

    How can ICS be Android 2.4, if it will unifiy Gingerbread AND Honeycomb to a single development branch? So what, tablet users would go from 3.0 or. 3.1 even to 2.4? I say 3.5. Maybe 4.

    As you probably know by now, I can absolutely feel with you. If I still had my E72, I’d use it I suppose, although I would miss the seemless google integration. Still waiting for the Nokia E6 or something that runs Android but handles like the E72. I might have to invent it myself :)

  • stevelitchfield:

    @arunmehmi01 Err…. six months ago 8-)
    Just joking with Nokia….. Latest estimate is next couple of weeks…. but who knows. Maybe they’ve found last minute bugs?

  • arunmehmi01:

    do you know when Symbian Anna is meant to be released?

  • iscogd:

    I absolutely agree with you! short story; some weeks ago my touch smartphone had crushed and I had to reset it, in meantime I switched my SIM back to E71, and since then I didn’t switch back to my touch with all his glory and fancy software I purchased for him. The input and the use of my E71 is simply great.
    Thanks for reading my post.

    @kesterwww Yes, that’s built-into Gravity.

  • kesterwww:

    where is the on screen keyboard at about 9.50 from? Is it the gravity app?

  • stevelitchfield:

    @andylarge2m Yes, in the late summer, I suspect.

  • andylarge2m:

    @jamoiholland How does the Droid Pro perform on UK networks? Does it have workable 3G radio? What’s the camera and sound like? It’s weird that there is no proper UK version! Galaxy Pro is actually not bad at all for me. What is your beef with it?

  • andylarge2m:

    Amen! You are so right about hardware keyboards and also about how manufacturers muck the phones with them up. E.g Samsung Galaxy Pro – Thanks for the camera but where is the flash? etc..
    But I think the tide is turning, looks like there are more Androids with keyboards on the way. Hurrah :)
    The problem for me is side sliders. They really distort my workflow. All that twisting the phone round. Maybe the HP Pre 3 is the answer.. Will you be getting one for review?
    Keep up the good work! Andy

  • stevelitchfield:

    @gavrilaeugen Probably. Depends if the E6 gets here first 8-)

  • gavrilaeugen:

    @stevelitchfield it’s the next phone in the phone show 142 ? :D

  • bills2north:

    Hi Steve & thanks for a good show! Here comes the same old record..(Easy and safe to overclock ;) 1ghz cpu, graphics accelerator, 48 gigs memory with card, ok 3.5″ screen, allright camera, decent full qwerty keyboard, interestingly tweakable open maemo 5 os v.1.3 fw… N900 has been my brick of choice for a little over a year now. Tweaking it never gets old. :D

  • stevelitchfield:

    @gavrilaeugen Doesn’t arrive til mid week. Will keep you posted!

  • achronicles:

    @stevelitchfield you maybe right, but looking at it from a common sense point of view it would be 4.0 if it is to unify the fragmentation between the phones and the tablets. Google being Google, it could be 3.2, 3.5, or 4.0

  • gavrilaeugen:

    what do u think about X7 ? :D

  • CPTDJB:

    1 word. TouchPro2!

  • pritpal87:

    Haptic feedback on i8910 is awesome.

  • badopinion:

    I agree that a proficient virtual keyboard user will be around twice as fast with typical text entry than a user with a physical keyboard. Steve ,that was a painfully slow demo of your “virtual” skills :) and yes, Swype sucks unless carpel tunnel syndrome is your goal.

  • DrogbaMBT:

    u r so right steve.i wanted an htc phone with a good physical keyboard and atleast a 1ghz processor and a good 8mp camera..but surprisingly i couldnt find one n had to settle for the inspire 4g…n i seriously miss the physical keyboard the touch input seriously sucks :(

  • stephenquin58:

    Great show as usual Mr L, bit of a change from an actual review, and at the risk of being sychophantic, I agree 100% with your choice of form factor, does in fact give the best of both worlds, and there are times when a physical QWERTY just cannot be beaten, and no one can say it’s not nice to have the choice ? Well, they will, but they’ll be WRONG ;-D

  • stevelitchfield:

    @badopinion Again, YOU try typing while straddling a tripod. I could hardly see the screen!

  • marksapollo:

    Just to let you know the Safari tabbed browsing is only available on the iPad, not the iPhone unfortunately but it would probably be a tad pointless on a 3.5″ screen? I had a play with a friends iOS 5 iPhone and loved it, great alerts system etc, not sure I like the built in twitter though as I never use it? As for keyboards I’m fully used to the iPhone now, but I can just as easily use a physical keyboard.

    Sounds like you need a Dell Venue Pro?!
