Samsung Epic 4G Vs. HTC Evo 4G Comparison

Tommy takes some time with the Evo 4G and Epic 4G and compares the only two 4G phones out on the market. When Tommy made this comparison 4G was not available in his market. Since then, 4G has launched in his area and will be doing another comparison. Over all the phones have similar feature yet the quality of each feature varies from phone to phone. If epic had a kickstand, the EVO would retire

I never used the video/audio out on the epic i could never figure out how to do it but i was also told the same thing the sprint lady said there was a way to do it without wires too not sure how true that is…so im sorry i cant really answer that but the evo has does have hdmi and so far i like it plus its running on 2.2! I guess its just a matter of opinion..sorry i couldn’t be more of more help. :)

Yeah, it may be late, but actually they just recently unvieled EB13, 2.2 Froyo for the Epic 4G…

I own a Sprint Epic 4G phone, everything works like a charm. I’m currently using it with Metro Pcs hehe. It’s pretty neat. As for the battery, it varies on a few factors, as a tip to all you owners/future owners, There are apps (due to weak programming) Drains the batt. If you’re playing a GBA Emulator all day on the super AMOLED screen with the max brightness, that contributes into drain as well. Just be wise, with trial and error, you’ll surely learn to tweak your phone to your habits.

@7777MRBOB7777 You have to have the corrrect cables (aftermarket) and then go into your setting and enable it. These is basically an on off switch for TV OUT that is the setting you are looking for.

@skatrrgurl1406 I’m thinking of getting the Epic 4G,i have read conflicting info about the device when it comes to Video/Audio out.One Sprint customer rep said is does video out via 3.5mm jack, another rep said that feature is disabled, which is true?Have you used video out?Does 3.5mm jack video out work?

7 months later still no update to 2.2 They have seem to have abandoned the people that bought into the Hype. Like an idiot I bought 2. Biggest mistake was trading in an EVO for the slide out keyboard.

  • skatrrgurl1406:

    @CellPhoneTrek thanks!

  • CellPhoneTrek:

@skatrrgurl1406 About the same but check the Market for battery saving apps and also try reading about the Epics built in task manager

I have the epic and the battery life is terrible but i do like the phone. does anyone know if the evo has a better battery life?

  • kimimclaren9058:

Epic is ugly. Samsung only promote their phone with over hyping AMOLED display. The design and UI of the phone is terrible. I vote for Evo.

  • zdizzlefoshizzle69:

i have swype on my evo(:

  • futureneck:

did anyone mention the epic’s superamoled screen vs the evo’s traditional tft lcd. that makes a big difference on the clarity of the epic and battery life as well.

  • Konraden:

Why is the audio forced mono?

  • SportzComedy:

    I love my Evo 4G…Good ” vs ” video!
