Review of the HTC Droid Eris Smartphone and Otterbox Case
Update (Aug 14, 2010): This phone broke after under 2 months of use. It can’t get past the Android boot screen while turning on. Verizon is giving me an LG Ally for free as a replacement. Because of this issue, along with the overall laggy feeling of the phone, I have trouble recommending it to anyone.

HTC Droid Eris gives internet access to Apple iPad
Holan from authenticmarketing.net i bought an iPad a month ago, and realized that maybe I should have gotten a 3G version. I decided against spending the extra money on buying a mifi (also the data rates are higher on it) so I took my existing phone the HTC Droid Eris converted it to a local carrier Mobi PCS (they have unlimited Data for a month) Installed a custom firmware (Rooted Android OS 2.1 Eclair with preinstalled Wireless Tether) Now I use that for internet if I don’t have access to wifi. I don’t get the fastest speeds but if I really need internet on the road, I use it. The programs used is wifi tether. Please read warnings and precautions before attempting to root your phone. I asked a Mobi account executive if tethering was allowed and he told me it is as long as you are on the Android Plan (Unlimited Everything + for Data a month) thanks for looking, Holan @holanz http

TECH RANT: Verizon HTC Droid Eris
twitter.com – in a world of doesn’t, DROID DOES….sometimes – I just got a new HTC Droid Eris and I’ve been having some problems with the external speaker! It stopped working yesterday! I tried the obvious: making sure the volume was up and the settings were correct, but it still crapped out. Could it be a software difficulty? The speaker started working once I started filming the video, which tells me that this may be a frequent, intermittent occurence. How can I stop it!? Tweet me @JoeyHomza and let me know
