T-Mobile G-Slate Review – BWOne.com
bwone.com Twitter: twitter.com Facebook: facebook.com Empire Avenue: empireavenue.com Samsung is releasing the Touch Wiz update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 on August 5. We have our update and a hands on tour. This is the first custom overlay on an Android Honeycomb tablet and adds some cool features and needed uniqueness from other honeycomb tablets in the market. On the home screen you still have the same 5 desktops but now you have the number indicator on the top to let you know which one you are on. They’ve made some changes to the navigation bar and notification area. The navigation bar adds a new screenshot icon to take a snapshot of anything that you have on-screen. There is also a new Mini Apps tray that include the new task manager, calendar, world clock, pen memo, calculator and music player. These apps will run on top of any of the applications you have open and move across the screen like a widget. So such as if you are doing some online banking and need a calculator it will show up on top and you can interact with both the browser and the calculator at the same time. The notification center got a facelift and now includes the power center that you see in Galaxy S phones when you swipe down on the top of the phone. This will allow you to turn on and on Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, Notifications, Flight mode, Sound and Auto rotation. (Screen capture won’t let us grab a shot of this so check it in the vide) Touch Wiz adds Live Panel widgets which give you quick …

LG G-Slate 4G android tablet review
Overall this is one of the best android tablet around as of today. Comes with honeycomb 3.0, will have 3.1 update coming soon, which will have alot of upgrades done to the OS itseft, like USB host support. As far as the screen LG used a wide-angle IPS screen 1280 x 768 pixels, HD, 3D screen and is brighter then the Xoom. Also you get about 9 hrs battery time as it has a big 6400mAh battery, so watching movies is great on this tablet. The GPS thanks to google nd LG is top notch, pick up satellite within 9 seconds, is very fast and pretty accurate. As far as games go, is good, but still lacking as lack of development, not really much to chose from, unlike IOS, theres games left and right and some good one that uses hardware acceleration “openCL” are starting to pop up on IOS market. hope to see more SDK developers as android OS gets better. Biggest Con with most android tablets, is the lack of MPAA support MPAA-affiliated movies on a 1080p tablet = fail, which also means no HULU and Netflix streaming, due risk of copyright infringement . you can’t download the app right out of box, as it not supported, and it is a shame, can’t blame LG, but Google, HULU and Netflix have to come out with better support or they will fail, especially Netflix being they are rising the prices for their services. If they did you will see Androids tablets being sold out. Which is the one of the biggest reason people bought the iPad, besides better game support and better overall games. Shame as I …

Motorola XOOM vs LG Optimus Tab (T-Mobile G-Slate) vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1
Twitter: twitter.com Facebook: www.facebook.com 2nd Channel: www.youtube.com In this comparison I take a look at the first three Android 3.0 tablets to determine which is going to be the best Honeycomb tablet. The Motorola XOOM looks to be the first Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet to launch and it looks quite good. It will be a Google Experience device meaning no custom firmware which should help the tablet get updates much more quickly. You’ll find 1 GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor, 1GB of DDR2 RAM, a 10.1 inch display with a resolution of 1280×800 and support for Verizon 3G now that can be upgraded to Verizon 4G LTE later in the year. Next up is the LG Optimus Tab which will be known as the T-Mobile G-Slate in the United States. The Optimus Tab also runs a stock version of Android 3.0 however it has a smaller 8.9 inch display that supports 3D, albeit with glasses. It also runs the Tegra 2 processor however it has HDMI out along with two 5 megapixel rear facing cameras with allows you to record up to 1080p HD 3D video. Lastly we have the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, the update to the first major Android tablet the original Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is very similar to the Motorola XOOM with a 10.1 inch 1280×800 display, Tegra 2 CPU and of course Android 3.0 Honeycomb. It lacks a USB port, MicroSD card slot and HDMI however which makes it a bit of a tougher sell.
